Fun and music at the Tony Lavery Fleadh

Musicians, singers and storyellers from across Ireland and beyond are expected to flock to Lurgan this weekend for the Tony Lavery Fleadh.

A wealth of talent is promised in various bars and clubs across north Lurgan.

This is the 22nd Tony Lavery Fleadh set up in memory of the legendary Lurgan man who was a great ambassador for Irish music and culture.

The fun begins on Friday night with sessions and music across town.

On Friday at JP’s there will be the Kick Start Session at 9pm.

In the Corner House Bar, Derrymacash the line up starts with a Bluegrass session on Friday Night at 9pm.

On Saturday at The Corner House there will be a Comhaltas Traditional Session at 2pm and then at 5pm a session with Síoda. On Saturday Night there will be the Lough Side Traditional Session at 9pm plus a Saturday Night Live Session. On Sunday you can watch the All Ireland Football Final with the John Shaft Session after at 6pm and on Sunday Night there will be the Tony Lavery Fleadh Finale Session at9pm.

In St Paul’s GAA Club on Friday Night there will be the Soda Bread & Pollen Folk Session at 9pm while on Sunday after the All Ireland Final there will be Irish Dancing at 5pm. On Sunday there will be a Folk and Traditional Session at 6pm.

At the Stables Bar there will be a Sunday session at 7pm.

And on Monday JP’s will be hosting the famous Hangover Session at 3pm.
