BELSONIC 2012 in association with Absolut just got bigger! Knife Party, You Me At Six, The Coronas, Jake Bugg and Kill The Noize have all been added as supporting artists to the bill for Belsonic 2012, which run from 15-26th August in Belfast’s Custom House Square!

Knife Party & Kill The Noize join Skrillex and Dillon Francis on Wednesday August 15th. Knife Party is the production alias of Rob Swire & Gareth McGrillen, the founders of Australian Drum & Bass giants PENDULUM. The duo exploded onto the Electronic Dance Music scene in 2011 with singles “Internet Friends” & “Antidote” (with Swedish House Mafia). Their debut EP “100% No Modern Talking” has gone on to be a massive club hit, and has recently been followed up by a sophomore offering entitled “Rage Valley”. They made their Belfast debut in March of this year, playing to a sellout crowd at The Stiff Kitten Club.

Kill The Noize will be opening proceedings on the Skrillex bill on August 15th. This NYC based Dubstep producer, real name Jake Stanczak, backed up Skrillex on much of his 2011 world tour, and is a frequent collaborator with Nero, Porter Robinson, Skrillex & Korn.

You Me At Six will play main support to Paramore on Sunday August 19th! The band are at an all time high in their career - their third LP “Sinners Never Sleep”, released in 2011, reached no. 3 in the UK albums charts, while the debut single taken from the album “Rescue Me”, has been their highest charting single to date. Their recent Ulster Hall headline performance sold out weeks in advance, making them a huge addition to this already heavyweight bill!

Irish pop-rockers The Coronas join James Morrison, Newton Faulkner and Gareth Dunlop on August 25th. The Dublin based four piece have recently released their third studio LP, entitled “Closer To You”, which debuted at number three in the Irish charts. The band sold out a record five night stand in Dublin’s historic Olympia Theatre in December of last year, and are currently working towards a sell out headline show in Dublin’s O2 Arena, which is scheduled for November. They return to Belfast after playing to a capacity crowd at QUB Mandela Hall earlier this month.

Jake Bugg makes his Belfast debut on August 20th, playing special guest to Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds. Looking like a young, rugged Ian Brown and sounding like Bob Dylan, Jake Bugg is 2012′s answer to Alex Turner. Arriving onto the radar last year after his performance on the BBC Introducing stage at Glastonbury seventeen-year-old Jake is now signed to Mercury and recently unveiled his single ʻLightning Boltʼ which Zane Lowe swiftly earmarked as his ʻSingle of the Weekʼ.
