Garvagh Historical Society meeting notice
THE next meeting of Garvagh Historical Society will take place on Thursday, June 28 at 8pm in the Community Building Garvagh.
The speaker will be Eric Lake, Master Mariner. His subject will be RMS Princess Victoria, Disaster and Legacy from a professional mariner’s perspective, covering the loss of the vessel and the legacy left by the inquiry.
At the time, the owners (British Transport Commission) sited the inquiry findings as being inconsistent, erroneous and bad in law. Concurring with the owners Eric believes the inquiry findings set the stage for further loss of life over the next five decades.
Anyone interested in coming along to this meeting will be made welcome
