Gearing up for beerfest

POLLOCK Park will play host to a Beerfest this Saturday. The event, organised by Lurgan Rugby Football and Cricket Club, will take place at the club from 7.30pm to 1am.

It will feature two live bands and a selection of the finest local beers and ciders.

Guest beers include a selection of ales and stout from Clanconnel Brewery run by Waringstown man Mark Pearson.

Hilden Brewery will also be present, offering a selection of five beers and ales.

In terms of ciders, visitors will be spoiled for choice with MacIvors, Armagh Cider and Tempted Cider all in attendance with their wares.

Tempted Cider’s Strawberry Cider was a finalist in the National Irish Food and Drink Awards along with Clanconnel Brewery’s McGrath’s Irish Red.

The event is open to Lurgan RFCC members and their friends. Entry is £5 and beers and ciders will be sold at £3 per metric pint (500ml).

Food will also be available as well ‘regular’ drinks from the bar.
