The annual UK wide Love Parks Week is just around the corner and the local Council has organised loads of fun events to get you and your family outside and enjoying the wonderful parks and green space available on your doorstep!

Lurgan Park and Lord Lurgan Park are offering an action-packed week, full of activities to suit the whole family so take your pick and get involved!

Lurgan Park: Sunday, July 26/Sunday, August 2, from 1pm and 4pm: the rowing boats will be on Lurgan Park Lake. Families can hire a boat and all equipment will be provided – strictly four people per boat. Cost is £2 per person for approximately 20 minutes hire.

Tuesday, July 28, 10am to noon: children aged between four and eight years old can have fun at the Mini Park Rangers Club with bug hunts, pond dipping and nature walk. Children must be supervised by a responsible adult and this event is free.

Wednesday, July 29, from 10am to noon: Children aged between seven and 12 years old can come and join the Junior Bird Watching Club. This event is free. Booking is essential for the event on 3833 7207 or 07590 776316

Thursday, July 30, from 10am to noon: At the Tree Study & Nature Trail event you will be taken on a guided tour of the park, learning about the magnificent trees and wildlife that inhabit the park. This event is free.

Sunday, August 2, 1pm to 4pm: As well as the rowing boats on the lake, you can also bring your imagination and enjoy an afternoon of Den Building!

Lord Lurgan Park, Wednesday, July 29, from 2pm to 4.30pm: Come armed with creativity for a fun-filled afternoon of Den Building! Tie, clip and pin the material together to make a special hiding place for you and your friends, then take it all down and start again. Based on the green area beside the play park, this is a great activity for the whole family. Suitable for children of all ages, this event is free of charge.

Friday, July 31, at 10am: Come along from 1.30pm to 3.30pm and enjoy Archeology in the Park. Get to grips with history and learn about Archaeology, the Stone Age, Vikings, World War II and more through a series of fun filled challenges, craft activities and trails. This event is free.
