Members stood in silence as a mark of respect to Florence who had been a very regular attender at monthly meetings and WI events. She had held office in the institute on many occasions over the years, not least the role of Honorary Treasurer.

Members recalled that Florence was a perfectionist in all she did and rewowned for her diligence and attention to detail. Many members attended the very large funeral servce in St. Patrick’s Parish Church, Ballymena, and this reflected the high esteem in which Florence was held by different organisations in the local community.
