Following a sell-out performance to a standing ovation at Londonderry’s Playhouse, Marvel Arts Theatre Company have decided to bring their production of “Misery” to Limavady.

A one night only performance will be held at the Roe Valley Arts and Cultural Centre on Friday, November 2.

Formed in 2006 by Producer-Director Deigh Reid, amateur drama group Marvel Arts have gone from strength to strength bringing plays such as “Of Mice and Men” and “One Flew Over The Cuckoo’s Nest” to local theatres.

Recently Deigh Reid has been directing for the Londonderry Musical Society having produced the Wizard of Oz and last year’s awarding winning show The King and I.

Featuring talented local actor Martin Bradley as the victimized Paul Sheldon and Limavady Grammar school teacher Claire Gordon as the psychotic Annie Wilkes this play has been described as a “tour de force” for the two actors.

Based on the psychological thriller novel by Stephen King, this stunning adaptation by Simon Moore was nominated for World fantasy Award and later made into a Hollywood movie of the same name.

Successful romantic novelist, Paul Sheldon, who just had his life saved by his Number one fan, now lives to regret it. When Ann Wilkes discovers that her favourite character, Misery Chastain, has been killed off in his latest novel and she’ll do anything to make sure he brings her back to life.

Now Paul Sheldon must write as if his life depended on it...because it does.
