Green fingers at the ready
The Surprises Team started a six-month trip across Northern Ireland, popping up in different towns and cities each week, carrying out Random Acts of Kindness and bringing special surprises to local groups and organisations.
Causeway Volunteer Centre organised that the Lidl team, along with other volunteers who turned up to take part, had the opportunity to help Cloughmills Community Action Team at their ever growing Garden Site.

Lesley Maltman noted that: “Our team received such a warm welcome; not only from Cloughmills Community Action Team, but from all the locals in the surrounding Ballymoney area, making it a great to start to the Lidl Surprises journey.”
Patrick Frew from the Cloughmills Community Action Team said, “Here at the Incredible Edible Cloughmills we want to reconnect people with each, their community and the natural world by developing sustainable, fair and healthy food systems.
“Therefore it was great to see a local supermarket and local volunteers working together for the benefit of the community whilst also learn new skills and techniques about horticulture and permaculture.”
