Halloween Parade in Ballycastle

The Halloween Parade in Ballycastle will take place on Friday 31 October. There will be plenty of surprises this year, including a large dragon made by local primary school pupils with artist Jo Mac Kinley, a Giant Witch, a Ghost Train float, Barren Carrousel -a duo in costume on a decorated tricycle and even one of Moyle Council’s own vehicles transformed into a ghostly float.

Moyle District Council will offer prizes for the best fancy dress costumes (including adults!), there is £100 for the best group, £50 for the best adult and 2 under 18 prizes of £25.

The Arts Officer for Moyle District Council said: “We hope as many people as possible will get involved by making their own fancy dress, or by coming along to watch the parade and fireworks in what we hope will be a great evening for everyone.”

Judging for the Fancy Dress Competition takes place at 7pm at Dalriada Hospital Lower Car Park on the corner of Leyland Road and Coleraine Road ( beside Resource Centre,) where the winners will be judged and announced before the parade sets off.

The Parade will depart from the Dalriada Hospital Lower Car Park at appproximately 7. 15pm and make its way to the seafront via Castle Street, the Diamond and down Quay Road in time for the fireworks at 8pm.

Spectators are advised that all children watching, or in, the parade should be accompanied by an adult. Spectators are advised to get there in good time to find a parking space.
