Halloween rocks in Lisburn

LOCAL promoters SO:NI present the latest in their series of Lisburn gig nights, and 'Halloween Rocks' sees one of the strongest line-ups assembled yet.

The show takes place, as always, in Hague's Bar on Chapel Hill in its regular last Thursday of the month slot on October 28.

Headliners Pay*ola are no strangers to the Lisburn stage, and will be celebrating the worldwide online release of their latest album 'Optimism Will Destroy Me', after signing a distribution deal with Rubidium Records.

Pay*ola have played hundreds of gigs, big and small, throughout the U.K, Ireland and Europe – but the hometown Hague's show is always one of the band's favourites, and some exclusive new material is on the cards. The album is now available at iTunes, Amazon mp3 and most download sites, as well as the Rubidium Records website.

Next on the bill is Bandwagon, who despite their youth have been fast maturing into one of the finest rock acts in Ireland, as evidenced by the quality of their latest single 'Get Used to It' – doing their hometown of Lisburn proud in the process.Bandwagon is a powerful and soulful live act with real potential.

Also playing is Invinyl – perennial Lisburn favourites with a long and proud history, and who's acoustic set has been taking on a life of it's own of late, winning the band many new admirers by highlighting the undoubtedly strong songwriting skills of the McCutcheon brothers.

Kicking off the night is Full Rejector – who since rising from the ashes of PalMal have been steadily building their live prowess, presenting an alternative rock show with energy and edge.

This show will also serve as a reunion for those who enjoyed the recent Sunflower Fest 2010 in Hillsborough, as all the bands on this bill turned in storming performances at the festival.

Doors open at 8.30pm, admission is only 4 and the best place for info on SO:NI gigs – including how to get your act on future bills – is by searching Soni Live on Facebook, or at www.myspace.com/onesonimuisc.
