‘Without’ by acclaimed artist and filmmaker Rosemary Lee, captures an amazing panoramic view of the city. After the first highly successful presentation of ‘Without’ in August, which attracted over 1,500 visitors, Echo Echo is offering the public another opportunity to see the breathtaking installation from tomorrow, Thursday, November 28 until December 12.

Without was filmed last April from seven different view points from St Columb’s Cathedral tower and from the City Walls and captures local people moving and gliding throughout the city’s historic landscape in various creative ways. Many local cyclists, skateboarders, rollerbladers, teadancers and primary school children took part in the films which have received such an amazing public response.

Eddie Nixon from ‘The Place’, London’s premiere centre for contemporary dance described Without as: “One of the great artworks I have seen in my life”.

The project was the result of a year-long collaboration between Echo Echo Dance Theatre Company and Rosemary Lee for the City of Culture 2013. Rosemary Lee is one of the leading choreographers of recent times, and has made some beautiful and highly acclaimed large-scale works involving professional dancers and local communities.

Echo Echo Company Manager, Ailbe Beirne, said the company is delighted to remount Without: “In terms of artistic quality, feedback from audiences, and contributing to the lasting legacy, this is one of the most ambitious and most beautifully realised productions of 2013. We are happy it has attracted some high profile international touring invitations for next year.”

The remount of this special installation is not to be missed and will be presented at Echo Echo Dance & Movement Studios, Waterloo House, City Walls, Magazine Street from Thursday, November 28 to December 12. The project is supported by Culture Company 2013, Arts Council of Northern Ireland and Arts Council England in association with Artsadmin and The Place.
