This month’s Hello Sunday Morning event is organised for 11am in St. Columb’s Park House come along and enjoy a hearty healthy cooked breakfast, live music from Paddy Nash & the Happy Enchilada. As part of the event a family nature trail in organised for families to participate in round the park.

The Hello Sunday Morning campaign is running throughout the year. The purpose of the campaign is to highlight and raise awareness of the impact our alcohol consumption on a Saturday night has on ourselves and how we spend our time the day after. Are we able to enjoy the next day or do we fail to spend quality time with family and friends as a result?

The campaign will encourage and highlight the positive effects and benefits if we choose to drink a wee bit less on a Saturday night or even try a Saturday without alcohol! The knock on effect will be a hangover free Sunday where we can make the most of the day with our family and friends. In the long term the campaign will challenge our habitual behaviour with regard to our weekend alcohol consumption and make a positive impact on ourselves and family life going forward.

Mary Breslin community outreach worker said, ‘the events are organised to be inclusive for all and will change monthly,’ she added, ‘ June’s event is organised in partnership with the Neighbourhood Health Improvement Project and the Play Trail . The events will give local people simple and enjoyable ways to spend their Sundays on this special year for the city. Feel free to contact us on Facebook if you have any further suggestions for events”.

Admission is £1.50 for adults and all children go free.
