Horseshoe competition has £100 prize money
A top prize of £50 is on offer to the winner of a horseshoe competition to be held in Stranocum this Saturday starting at 2 p.m.
Organised by the local Ulster Scots Group, the competition is staged on an annual basis, but because of the construction of the new Community Centre, it will have a new venue - the football field beside the River Bush.
Of all the horseshoe competitions in the area, the Stranocum one offers the largest amount of cash. The winner will pocket £50, runner-up £30 and the two beaten semi-finalists £10 each.
The usual enthusiasts are expected to compete, but the competition is open to anyone who fancies their chances.
