'Inner Space' exhibition

AN Exhibition of Contemporary Works entitled 'Inner Space' is taking place at the Manor House, Rathlin Island, from Monday. It will run until the end of August.

An exhibition of new works by Artist and Printmaker, Julie Ann McWilliams Perry will take place for the month of August 2010 in the historic Manor House, Rathlin Island.

Following a successful exhibition at Flowerfield Arts Centre in May, Julie Ann found her work to be quite in demand and was then invited to hold a solo exhibition on the Island.

Julie Ann has won several art competitions in her adopted home of Ballycastle and professional commissions include “Dusty Bluebells”, a large format pastel painting, for the Causeway Trust which hangs in the Causeway Hospital, Coleraine.

She has exhibited and sold widely over the past eight years, working in acrylics and oils, but this is her first solo exhibition which advances the current renaissance in the fine art of printmaking.

Using a variety of techniques including collagraph, intaglio drypoint and monoprint, she depicts the landscapes and seascapes of the Northern Ireland coast in small run original print series or as one-off pieces. All are distinct and unique and capture beautifully the drama and atmosphere of this very special part of the world.
