It’s the write stuff in Ballysally

The Ballysally Writers’ Creative Group met recently at the Focus on Family premises on the Coleraine estate,

The tutor, Dr Brenda Liddy is a teacher and published author who has many years of experience in teaching creative writing in academic and community settings.

Brenda realises that writing can be a very daunting experience for new writers and therefore she offers the right amount of encouragement and constructive feedback.

Brenda always says there’s a book in everyone and who knows, even a bookshelf! Participants were inspired during the course to take those ‘diamonds in the rough’ and turn them into pieces of polished prose.

Comments from the participants!

Violet: “I really enjoyed the creative classes. I learned to have confidence in my own work and the other members of the group were very supportive.”

Lisa: “The interactive sessions have been productive and the energy in the class is amazing. We help each other and I’ve gained some expertise in narrative technique and style.

And finally, Sue: “Brenda Liddy created a supportive environment in which I was encouraged to mine my memories and turn them into engaging stories that could be read for pleasure and eventually profit. The constructive feedback was invaluable.”
