David Lyttle and his band members will guide you through a programme of popular standards and originals combining a lively mix of uptempo numbers and warm soulful ballads.

Established internationally as a rising star, drummer, producer and songwriter Lyttle’s latest Jazz collaboration features Grammy-winning US trumpeter Terell Stafford. A top-tier modern day icon of jazz, Stafford combines lyricism and a deep love of melody with a spirited, adventurous edge.

This uniquely expressive musical talent allows Stafford the ability to dance in and around the rich trumpet tradition of his predecessors with a voice that is all his own.

Stafford’s associations include Wynton Marsalis and Diana Krall.

David Lyttle is no stranger to the Flowerfield auditorium, both in his own right and as a sideman to some of the finest jazz names the centre has welcomed over the last ten years.

His acclaimed 2012 hiphop/jazz crossover album ‘Interlude’ reached millions through an HMV TV campaign on Channel 4 and the support of MOBO and BBC Radio 1’s Introducing.

The line-up for the evening reads like a Who’s Who of the best in contemporary jazz in Northern Ireland: David Lyttle – drums; Terell Stafford – trumpet; Tom Harrison - alto saxophone; Meilana Gillard - tenor saxophone; Jamil Sheriff – piano and Damian Evans – bass.
