IT’S a well known fact that local singer, Mexican Joe Walker, is a very big fan of the great Don Williams.

With a similar singing voice, Joe’s many musical productions down the years have featured songs from the American super star.

All this has stood him in good stead with solid record sales and praise from those in the business.

It won’t come as any surprise that Joe’s latest offering entitled ‘Steal My Heart Away’ features a couple of Don Williams’ songs, but the real story lies in the fact that Joe has managed to write one of the tracks himself as well as getting respected songwriter, Alex Birnie, to pen another.

Alex and Joe got together a few months ago and planned what would impact most on the public. Having done work for George Hamilton !V, Joe was in no doubt that Alex was the man to shape the album’s contents.

Tennessee Rose is Alex’s offering while Joe’s is called In that Country Music City.

The other songs are Steal My Heart Away, Give it to Me, Atta Wat to Go and No Use Running.
