Kids in for a pound at leisure facilities

IN a bid to encourage children and young people under 18 to increase their participation in sport and physical activity during the school holidays, Banbridge District Council is running a one-pound-per-activity promotion at its leisure facilities throughout July and August.

This promotion applies to all activities running until 5pm daily subject to normal opening hours at Banbridge Leisure Centre, Dromore Community Centre and Rathfriland Community Centre. Activities include swimming, squash, badminton, tennis, lawn bowls, indoor and outdoor five-a-side football, table tennis as well as use of the fitness suite.

“We’re charging half the normal price for the majority of activities with this promotion because we want to make sure our leisure facilities are more affordable for parents and are more accessible to children at a time when they are more likely to use these,” commented Head of Leisure Services Ben Corr.

Activities are subject to availability and should be booked in advance to avoid disappointment on arrival. A minimum charge will apply for some group activities, for example, £8 for football. Full terms and conditions for this promotion can be found at www.banbridgeleisure.com

Parents are reminded that children aged 7 and under should be supervised by an adult at all times when using the Council’s leisure facilities. Parents are responsible for allowing children over 7 to use these facilities unaccompanied.

To make a booking, contact Banbridge Leisure Centre on 4062 8800, Dromore Community Centre on 9269 9070 or Rathfriland Community Centre on 4063 8188.
