Lead singer Nigel McCoy from Waringstown said: “It started off really, really well in Glasgow. There was a good crowd in and we were well received despite being on the same bill as some heavy metal bands.

“We’re paying for the tour ourselves and we’ve all taken a week off work to do it.

“After one night on tour we’re still together so that’s a good start. We were in bed for midnight and there was no rock ‘n’ roll style behaviour to report.”

At the end of last month Last Rush launched their debut album with a gig in Belfast’s Black Box.

“We’ve had really good feedback since the album launch,” said Nigel, whose brother Keith is the band’s drummer. The line-up is completed by Chris Cunningham from Moira on lead guitar and the band’s newest member, Tony Knipe, who plays guitar and has the unenviable duty of driving the tour bus.

The album, like the tour is called ‘Waiting To Be Found’ and the band are hoping the title is fulfilled come the tour’s end.
