Launch of Ballywillan's Disney's Beauty and the Beast and the Search for Chip

BALLYWILLAN Drama Group yesterday officially launched their forthcoming production - the spectacular and magical musical Disney's Beauty and the Beast … and their Search for Chip!

In the most ambitious production ever undertaken by Ballywillan, no expense has been spared to bring this endearing love story to the stage and feature all the original and enchanted Disney characters that everyone loves and knows.

Seen by over 25 million people worldwide, this wonderful stage show comes to the Riverside Theatre in Coleraine for 19 magical performances during January and February 2011. This show has already been eighteen months in the planning and promises to be the biggest production ever presented at the Riverside.

Well-known local musical theatre personalities have been cast in the main roles of Belle, Lumiere, Cogsworth, Mrs Potts and, of course, the Beast himself.

But there is one cast member missing and this is where the public can help. The Search for Chip has now officially started.

The group is looking for four talented boys and girls to alternate playing the part of Mrs Potts’ son, Chip, in the show.

The opportunity to take part in this fantastic spectacular is a memory that will last forever for the lucky boys and girls who get the part. Ideally Chip should be between the age of 6 and 9 and must be available for at least one evening rehearsal a week between November and January.

The “Search for Chip” will take place in the Kelly Hall, Victoria Street, Portrush on Thursday 9 September at 7.15pm. Further details and the application pack are available on the Ballywillan website: www.ballywillan.com

The application pack includes all audition material and an application form that must be returned before the auditions. Unfortunately application forms cannot be accepted on the evening of the auditions nor will any child be auditioned without an application form.

The show itself runs from Wednesday 19 January to Saturday 5 February 2011 at the Riverside Theatre and tickets are on sale now at the box office or online at: www.riversidetheatre.org.uk
