They are Shonagh Lyons and Katie Patton and both talented ladies had leading roles in the recent Jekyll & Hyde musical staged earlier this year by the Londonderry Musical Society. Both have been nominated for the prestigious Association of Irish Musical Societies (AIMS) Awards.

The Association of Irish Musical Societies is holding their annual ‘Oscars’ in Killarney next weekend, at which Shonagh Lyons has been nominated for the category of ‘Best Female Singer’ for her role as Emma, while Katie Patton has been nominated in the category for ‘Best Female Actress’ for her role as Lucy.

Commenting on the nominations, Jim Goodman, from the Society, said: “To get two nominations from the adjudicator who views well over 100 shows during the course of the year, throughout Ireland, and also for the top categories is very unusual and the Londonderry Musical Society is justifiably over the moon.”
