Limavady hosts the Third Man

Carol Reed’s classic film noir The Third Man screens at The Roe Valley Arts & Cultural Centre, Limavady on Saturday, August 2, 2pm, as part of the centre’s Classic Saturday Screening series.

The Academy Award winning thriller is hailed as being one of the best films ever made, celebrated for its atmospheric cinematography, performances, and musical score. The incredible Orson Welles stars as the enigmatic Harry Limes, tracked down by his childhood friend Holly Martins (played by Joseph Cotton) in Post-war Vienna. What Martins uncovers is betrayal, intrigue and danger.

Directed by the excellent Carol Reed, with a screenplay written by acclaimed writer Graham Greene and with Welles in the lead role, this film can do no wrong and is just as gripping now as it was on its first release in 1949.
