Lisa to star alongside Roly

GLASGOW-born country star Lisa McHugh will be one of the special guests when Roly Daniels plays in the Bannville Hotel on Friday March 25.

The 22-year-old is currently living in Letterkenny. Her parents were both born in Ireland, her mother from Falcarragh, Co.Donegal and her father in Castlederg, Co. Tyrone.

She appeared on a television show called “Glór Tíre” in December 2009 along with my mentor Robert Mizzell, and proudly reached the final of the competition.

Since “Glór Tíre” she has had many exciting opportunities. These include her own “Country Girl” weekly column in the Donegal News (which is also available as an online blog called Country Girl With Lisa McHugh; recording a duet with Robert Mizzell called “I Told You So”, which has been included on Robert’s latest album “Redneck Man”; and being a support act on Crystal Swing’s highly successful nationwide tour, as well as appearing in countless festivals, concerts and major events including this year’s Countryfest which was held in Donegal.

But the most exciting achievement she has experienced very recently was the release of my brand new 13 track album called “Old Fashioned Girl”. She said, “I thoroughly enjoyed recording the album and my goal was to record material which was suitable for everyone and I hope I have achieved this.

Each song on the album reflects an experience or a time in my life over the past few years and they are all very close to my heart. I would like to say a big thank you to everyone who purchased their copy of my new album and I really hope you like it.”
