Live music at Hillsborough's Hillside

THE Hillside in Hillsborough will soon be the place to be every Friday and Saturday night as they continue their series of live music evenings.

The shows began on January 2 with Bush Radio and will continue this weekend with Matthew Rutherford-Jones on Friday (January 8) and The Cinnamon Boys, one of the best cover duos around, performing everything from Neil Young to The Beatles.

On Friday January 15 Leah Jordan will be performing and on Saturday night (January 16) the Paula McAleese duo will be providing the musical entertainment.

Michael E Thomas, who originally hails from New Jersey, will be delighting everyone with tunes from his catalogue of songs that will have the audience rocking into the small hours.

Wes Grierson, whose performances are always vibrant, haunting and uplifting, will be playing on Saturday January 23. He is a powerful and expressive singer with sensitive lyrics and huge amount of heart.

The intimate vocal delivery, the undeniably intelligent and contemporary approach makes Wes one of the best live performers around.

Conor McAfee, winner of The Ards International Guitar Festival 2008 singer/songwriter competition, will grace the Hillside on Friday January 29 and The Cinnamon Boys will bring the month to a close with their second show at the Hillside on January 30.
