Local singers take part in bird song project

This month, the Traditional Singing Circle session, taking place on Thursday, May 7, at 9pm in Tinney’s Bar, Patrick Street, will be entitled ‘The Dawn Chorus’ as part of the wider ‘Bird Song Project,’ which will be running across the island throughout May.

‘Bird Song’ is a research and performance project for older traditional singers. There are 15 traditional sing circles, from Wexford to Londonderry, participating by hosting their own bird song night.

It is estimated that over 300 songs in relation to birds will be sung across the country in May.
