Local talent tours with top comedy names

Cormac has brought comedy to the forefront in Cookstown with Cookie’s Comedy Club in the Old Town Inn, a monthly event bringing the best stand up comedians from both sides of the border and runs on the first Thursday of every month. Cormac is currently taking a break from the club to concentrate on his upcoming gigs although the club continues in his absence.

Since taking to the stage in 2011, things have gone from strength to strength for the Moneymore native. His alter ego ‘Igor’ went down well with the crowds at Cookie’s Comedy Club and even led to Igor having his own night at the Burnavon Theatre. ‘Igor’ is from Russia and has come to Ireland to find himself a wife but is finding it hard to adjust to life in Ireland.

Cormac not only performs as ‘Igor’ but has routines where he reminisces about growing up round Moneymore and what life was like in those early days with his Mum and Dad. Cormac has come a long way in such a short period of time and has played gigs the length and breadth on the country, supporting some of the finest comedians from these shores.

Cormac has been signed up to support Give My Head Peace’s Tim McGarry (Da) at a number of upcoming gigs, including Craic Theatre, Coalisland on 25 May and (as Igor) Bryson’s Bar, Magherafelt on 30 May. He will also be gigging alongside talents such as Joe Rooney and Pat McDonnell of ‘Father Ted’ fame and popular Belfast comic Colin Geddis (Barry the blender).

Cormac will be headlining Voodoo comedy lounge in Donegal, The Playhouse in Portrush and has a sold out show in York, England and Cormac will be headlining the Burnavon theatre in December and will be supporting big names in comedy across Northern Ireland.
