Maccabees for Mandela

THE Maccabees are the headliners for the NME Tour which will be calling at the Mandela Hall on Monday, February 22.

2009 was a great year for The Maccabees with career-defining sets at Leeds and Reading Festival which had The Observer dubbing them “festival heroes” and NME reminding us “they’re probably the best home-grown indie rock band the UK has to offer right now”.

In ‘Wall of Arms’ they released one of the best-received albums of the year. The record entered the UK album charts at number 13 in May, winning praise across the board from fans and critics alike.

Felix White said: "We understand the legacy of this tour. The old NME tours years ago, if I missed one I'd think, s**t I'm never going to see that again. So that's a nice thing to be a part of. It looks like a good tour to me.”

Support is Two Door Cinema Club and Panama Kings.
