MADS announce big show for September

Moyraverty Arts and Drama Society will become the first local drama group to perform Andrew Lloyd Webber’s ‘Phantom Of The Opera’.

Show producer Kieran Corr said: “We are delighted to be given this opportunity to perform this show.

“It will be a massive challenge for all concerned but we have got together a fabulous production team for this show. We welcome back Steven Towe who is in charge of set construction, Thomas Larkham in charge of lighting, Nicola O’Hara will be the director, Jonathan McGuinness will be the musical director with Caitriona Corr as the vocal coach. We are also pleased to have Helen McCrory who has returned from Liverpool University and Emma Watson who has returned from Edinburgh University as the choreographers. Both girls have contributed immensely to previous shows and its a real bonus to have them back.

“We have a young but a very experienced cast of 42 people many of them recently performed in our successful production of Grease. They have been working hard over the last four weeks and we are more than confident of doing the show justice. We have an orchestra of over 20 members playing live and the tickets for the four performances go on sale this week.

The Phantom of the Opera will be performed at St Anthony’s Centre from Thursday, September 5 to Sunday, September 8. Tickets can be purchased from St Anthony’s Centre or Print Business Supplies in Lurgan.
