MADS! perform with big band

Moyraverty Arts and Drama Society take to the Craigavon Civic Centre stage this Saturday night to perform their Big Band Concert Event.

The drama group have linked up with the South Ulster Community Band to perform this latest production by the Society.

Show Producer Kieran Corr said: “I would like to thank John Mitchell and all the members of the South Ulster Community Band for giving our members an opportunity to perform with so many talented musicians.

“The drama group is really excited about this concert and we as a group intend to give every single member of MADS! an opportunity to perform with the band.

“Our own MADS! live band of Jonny McGuinness, Richard Lappin, Eamon Lenahan and Adam Booth will join the South Ulster Band for this Saturday nights concert.

“This means we will be performing with a 44 piece band.

“This is a fantastic occasion for all our 150+ members and not even performers in ‘The Voice’ or X Factor are give such an opportunity.

“We have been rehearsing for this concert over the last few weeks and I would personally like to thank Jonny McGuinness, Catiriona Corr, Claire McMahon and John Mitchell for making this possible.

“We will be performing songs from various musicals, films and popular songs. The South Ulster Community band will also play some tunes of their own”.

Doors open at 6.45pm and the concert starts at 7.30pm with Bar Facilities available for anyone over 18.

Tickets priced at £10 and a concession rate of £7.00 are now on sale from Print Business Supplies Market Street Lurgan, The House of Sport at Gilpinstown Retail Park, Greene’s Nisa Local at the Legahory Shopping Centre or you can just come along and pay at the door.

This Big Band concert event was supported by the Craigavon Borough Council community Celebratory Fund.

After this event Mads juniors has opened its doors for any boys or girls in primary 6 up to year 11 in secondary school to join the society.

New or old members rejoining can come along on Saturday, March 28, or Saturday, April 3, at Moyraverty Centre beside St Brendan’s Primary School.

Drama is from 11am to 1.15pm for this age group and this will be the last opportunity for new or old members to join the junior section until the Autumn.

They will be performing Fame, West Side Story, making a musical video and also producing a short film.
