Magherafelt woman to star in new series of ‘The Fall’

Lisa had a starring role alongside Gillian Anderson who plays police detective Stella Gibson in the hit series which also stars Jamie Dornan.

She says working with Gillian Anderson of X-Files fame was like taking “a masterclass in acting.”

“Acting is my background and that is what I like to do,” said Lisa, a former LAMDA student and the founder of Bright Young Things (BYT) drama school for young people aged between three and 18 years.

It continues to grow in popularity drawing budding talent from throughout the Mid-Ulster to workshops in Magherafelt and Belfast.

Talking about The Fall, Lisa said it was hard work with plenty of early rises and “a lot of sitting around” waiting for direction, and “scary” on occasions.

“But I loved it all and it was an experience that I can pass on to the children I work with,” she enthused.

Located in Belfast, The Fall has a global television audience, and the new series is bound to enhance its appeal amongst the viewing public.

A former primary school teacher, Lisa has her feet firmly on the ground and has a burning enthusiasm for progressing BYT.

From next Wednesday (September 24) BYT workshops will be held in Rainey Endowed School, Magherafelt, and towards the end of the year a show is sceduled with a few specially invited guests.

As well as continuing with drama, Lisa - a former teacher - has also branched out to help improve the confidence levels of adults. “Condifence, communciation and creativity are very important in all walks of life,” she said. “I’ve found that a lot of people, even those in top positions within business, lack the confidence that can be produced with the right training.”
