Massive crowds attend the Red Sails Festival

Huge crowds attended a bumper brogramme of events at this year's Red Sails Festival, the organisers have confirmed.

The Fireworks finale on the Saturday night attracted in the region of 20,000 to 25,000 spectators in the seaside resort and surrounding areas.

Even the rain earlier in the week did not stop 2,500 Ritchie Remo fans turning up and thoroughly enjoying a great show.

The Portstewart Community Association hasbeen receiving unprecedented numbers of messages of thanks from the public and have been getting loads of enquires from visitors asking for next year’s dates, so they can book accommodation now.

Red Sails Festival 2017 will be held from Sunday, July 23 to Saturday, July 29.

Portstewart Community Association wish to thank the following: Causeway Coast and Glens Council, Coleraine Vintage Motor Club, Causeway Volunteer Centre, Coleraine Community Rescue Service, H.M. Coastguard, the Fire Service, Portrush Music Society, URL Results, A.C.Electronics, Maurice and all the sound team, Coleraine Grammar, Bill McClure, Radio Ulster, Anne Marie McAleese, Emma from Tesco, Uel, Big Telly, Portstewart Library, local hurches, Festival King and Queen John and Rebecca, the P.S.N.I and the Neighbourhood Police Team local press and radio, all the volunteers, acts, groups, children, organisations, businesses and other individuals who helped contribute to a very successful festival.
