McAfee’s Two Night Sale

McAfee Auctions have a Two Night Sale this week in there Ballycastle Showrooms, and according to Gerry McAfee there is a really good range of goods and a varied mix of good furniture, Clocks include many Wall and Mantle Clocks and Three Carriage Clocks, good pieces of Silver including a Superb Dublin Two Handled Presentation Bowl, and a good collection of Jewelery including many Fine Rings, Chains etc.

The sale commences on Thursday 5th May and continues on Friday the 6th at 6.30pm each evening.

Among the many pieces of furniture is a Fine Pair of Highly Decorated and Inlaid Paper Mache Saloon Chairs, a Two Leaf Dining Room Table, Turn Over Leaf Card Table, Unusual Pair of Walnut Sideboards, Two Palour Suites, Envelope Card Table, Nice Chest of Drawers, and a mix of Sideboards, together with a good selection of miscellaneous Living, Dining and Bedroom Furniture.

Clocks include a Mahogany Long Case Clock, a selection of interesting Mantle Clocks including Three Carriage Clocks, Two Spring Vienna’s and Two Oak Cased Wall Clocks.

Among the Silver is a Superb Two Handled Cup, Dublin 1926, and is one of a collection of pieces from a Londonderry estate, among the other pieces are a Two Silver Two Handled Sugars Sheffield 1872 and Birmingham 1924, a Silver Teapot Birmingham 1924, Sauceboats, Vases etc.

A large collection of Jewelery, the usual includes Two Private Collections and includes a selection of 9ct and 18ct Gold Diamond Rings, ranging up to 1.4ct, and this time there is a Superb Gents 14ct Gold Diamond Inset Ring. The sale also includes a good selection of Brooches, Chains, Pendants, Fobs, Bangles, Earrings, Wrist Watches etc.

For the restorer there are a lot of restoration pieces including a Mahogany Bureau Bookcase, Dining Room Table, Sideboard, Roll Top Desk, Monks Bench etc.

Brown furniture is very much in demand again, and as well as the usual selection of Mahogany furniture, there are various other pieces including a Rosewood Mirror Backed Sideboard, a Walnut Drinks Cabinet, Walnut Dining Suite, Oak Hall Stand, Walnut Sideboard representing the many wood finishes available.

And that’s not all, Daggers, Crystal, include lots of Waterford and Tyrone, a most unusual and fine Metaphoric Dumb Waiter, quality Ceramics include Royal Worcester, Beswick, Royal Doulton and a large collection of Hummel Figurines, Two Drums, Coal Scuttles, Barometers, Oil Lamps, Pocket Watches, a Westwood Garden Tractor, Garden Benches, Old Trunks, an Edison Gramophone, Bugles, an Accordian, all make up this most interesting 800 lot sale.

Viewing commences on Tuesday 3rd and Wednesday 4th of May from 3.00 – 5.00pm and 7.00 – 8.30pm and continues each day of sale the 5th and 6th of May from 4.00pm, with the sale commencing nightly at 6.30pm.
