Mick Flavin set to celebrate at Tullyglass House Hotel

MICK Flavin is marking 25 years on the road with his band this year and that’s why there will be a mood of celebration in Tullyglass House Hotel when he appears there on Saturday next.

Since taking his bow on the Irish country dancing scene, Mick has established a reputation as a polished singer and gifted musician.

Along with his band he has enjoyed considerable success in the recording sphere and has topped the bill at many festivals.

And he has also proved a very popular visitor to Tullyglass over the years.

“I remember when we first went there we were made to feel very much at home by the dancers and it has remained the same ever since. That’s why we are looking forward to going back there next Saturday night. I never thought that twenty-five years after taking to the road I would still be playing at dances and I’m just delighted to have been spared to do this,” Mick said.

His band is one of the best around including as it does such accomplished musicians as Richard Nelson and Billy Burgoyne.

Mick has released a number of successful CD’s and has another one in the pipeline.

He has had tremendous success with numbers such as ’Sam’s place’, ‘Jennifer Jones’, ‘The Old School Yard’ and ‘Some Day You’ll Love Me’.

The Saturday night series of dances is proving hugely successful but Mick will be in party mood which should help this week-end’s dance to go with a special swing.

“We aim to make it a celebration bash,” Mick added.
