Kilrea Library is holding a free half-day ‘Mindfulness workshop’ next Tuesday, February 17 from 10:00am – 12:30pm, led by Caroline Stewart, founder of the Belfast Mindfulness Centre.

The workshop draws on the ancient practice of mindfulness meditation in order to produce healing and transformation in individual lives.

By the end of the workshop, participants should be able to use mindfulness-based skills to reduce stress, understand how the breath to help control stress, and will know how to cultivate a stress response, enabling them to enjoy life more fully, effectively and peacefully.

This workshop is one of many planned as part of Health in Mind, a partnership project which offers a wide range of positive mental health and wellbeing resources and services in libraries. In 2014/15, additional targeted funding from DARD is enhancing the Health in Mind service delivery for rural areas.

Sarah Crowther, Information Co-ordinator for Health in Mind, said: We are delighted to offer this free half-day workshop introducing mindfulness techniques in the relaxed setting of Kilrea Library.

Admission is free.
