Music event at YMCA

YouthAction Northern Ireland will be hosting a local heat of the Irish Youth Music Awards at Londonderry YMCA, Drumahoe on Fri 9 March 2012 at 7.30pm

The Awards are open to any young person aged 12 – 19 years and making their own original music.

(The average age of all bands entering must be 19 years.) It is a great opportunity for young people to come together, share their talents, have fun and build relationships with other young people with similar interests. The event should be an exciting and memorable experience for all involved.

Everyone is welcome to be part of the audience and to vote for winning song and act. An act will be chosen on the evening to represent the North West at the grand final in Dublin in April, where they could win the chance to record a compilation album at Ashtown Studios and have it reviewed in Hot Press Magazine.

Michael Bradley from The Undertones will be calling in during the event to meet some of the young musicians.
