New meditation guide released by Portrush author

THIS week, Mary Rose Stewart (PICTURED RIGHT) , proprietor of Blue Moon in Portrush, sees her long-awaited book finally published.

“Awakening Wisdom” will be launched this Friday (May 4th) along with a CD of guided meditations to compliment it.

“I have taught a meditation and alternative spirituality group for almost ten years now and I was often asked to put something onto paper or to record some of the work,” Mary Rose told the Times.

“It was always a case of “getting round to it”.

“The beginning of 2012 seemed a perfect time for such a project and then, when my daughter was suddenly taken seriously ill, I found myself with a lot of spare time on my hands as I spent every day in hospital with her over a two month period.

“Over the years, many of the group members commented how good it would be to have a CD recorded in a Northern Irish accent!

“Many on the market tend to American, and are therefore, more difficult to relate to. It has been a challenge but it has also been the fulfillment of a dream.”

Her book “Awakening Wisdom” offers tools for living a more spiritually connected life on a daily basis. It is interdenominational in nature, appealing most to those who have a solitary, alternative or earth-based spiritual path.

Suggesting that each human being has the ability to unfold their own spiritual path, Mary Rose shares some of the tools she has found useful over the years. Illustrated with black and white line-drawings, the small, handbag-sized book can be used as a daily reference tool or an inspirational prompt.

Mary Rose launches her book and CD this Friday, May 4th at the Arcadia, Portrush, 7-8pm. Everyone is welcome.
