New pastoral post for Dr Donald Patton

Dr Patton, who is a former Moderator of the Presbyterian Church in Ireland, has been appointed the new Pastoral Assistant of Railway Street Presbyterian Church, Lisburn, and he, and his wife Florence, were warmly welcomed there by the minister, the Rev Michael Davidson, on Sunday evening, February 21.

Dr Patton comes with over 40 years experience in pastoral ministry having served as assistant at Trinity (Bangor) - 1974 to 1977 and then minister of First Dromore - February 1977 to September 1983.

Dr Patton also served at Greystone Road (Antrim) from September 1983 to May 1988; Lowe Memorial (Finaghy) from May 1988 to September 2002; and Old Congregation (Randalstown) from September 2002 to January 2015.

In addition, he was Moderator of the Presbyterian Church in Ireland, 2008 to 2009.

Dr Patton, who retired in 2015, is formerly from Portadown and he and his wife Florence, who is also formerly from Portadown, now live in Aghalee.

The couple have four children - Julie, Philip, Andrew, Caroline and seven grandchildren.
