Newcastle set for One Cool Weekend

THERE are only days to go until a host of chart stars fly into Newcastle, County Down, for One Cool Weekend!

The weekend music concert, part of Down District Council’s Festival of Flight, takes place this Saturday 6 and Sunday, August 7 at the playing fields on the seaside resort’s Castlewellan Road.

Music fans will witness chart stars Chipmunk, Hard-Fi, Wretch 32, Ed Sheeran, Wonderland, Frankmusik, Starboy Nathan and a host of others live on stage.

Northern Ireland bands also have a chance to shine with General Fiasco, Microlip, Colenso Parade, Relish, A Plastic Rose, and Silhouette also performing.

Tickets are on sale now from www.coolfm.co.uk, www.ticketmaster.ie and Newcastle and Downpatrick Tourist Information Centres.

They cost just £22.49 (Saturday) and £16.99 (Sunday) inclusive of all fees. Special family ti ckets (for any four people) are also available for Sunday, priced at just £50 inclusive of all fees.

“The concert is part of a year long calendar of events planned to mark 21 years of bringing Northern Ireland close to great music.

“Cool FM is Northern Ireland’s most listened to commercial radio station with 376,000 people tuning in each week. We’re very excited to be bringing this major event to Newcastle.”

One Cool Weekend is open to families and people of all ages, though persons under 16 years old must be accompanied by an adult on Saturday, while under 14s must be accompanied by an adult on Sunday.
