Nico & Vinz join Usher at the Odyssey for Arena date

Although born and raised in Norway, the band have strong African backgrounds. Nico’s parent hail from the Ivory Coast, whilst Vinz’s family come from Ghana.

The duo perfectly mines their African heritage - reimagining the exuberance, rhythm and soul of African music within a Scandinavian pop vibe.

It’s an approach which is immediately evident within the ‘Black Star Elephant’ album as it effortlessly blends pop, reggae, West African dance, hip hop, rock and soul to create an engaging collection of songs which brim with soul-stirring messages which claim positive hopes for the future.

In their early days together, Nico & Vinz took their music across much of Europe and focused on producing music that was inspired by their travels.
