O’Kane on tour

BELFAST comedian Jake O’Kane has announced his ‘Tear Gas’ tour.

A raw, savage talent, no topic is sacrosanct to this comic.

After a sell-out tour and a top-selling DVD, the star of BBC’s The Blame Game and The Empire Laughs Back is setting out on his most extensive tour to date, bringing ‘Tear Gas’ to a new audience.

Combining the stunning photographs of Brendan Murphy with computer graphics, Jake tells the story of his upbringing on the streets, where rioting with police, army and the ‘other’ side was a recreational sport.

Jake’s comedy provides plenty of belly laughs but it also offers unique insights into the corrosive effects of division and sectarianism. After all the laughs, the audience is left with a feeling of hope for the future.

Among the shows announced are:

Friday, October 7: Market Place, Armagh

Saturday, Oct 15: Island Hall, Lisburn

Friday, November 4: Burnavon, Cookstown

Saturday, November 5: The Old Courthouse, Antrim
