Old Vehicle Club gears up for annual cavalcade

EAST Antrim Old Vehicle Club (EAOVC) is gearing up to celebrate the 11th anniversary of its flagship Belfast to Portrush Cavalcade fundraising event on Sunday, August 5.

The cavalcade will assemble at Mossley Mill, headquarters of Newtownabbey Borough Council from 8.30am on the day and members of the public are most welcome to attend and view the vehicles.

The cavalcade will leave at 11am passing through Manse Road, Ballyhenry Road, Sandyknowes roundabout, Antrim Road, Templepatrick, and Antrim and then on to Portrush for a static display at Dunluce Centre Portrush between 1pm and 4.30pm.

This year, instead of travelling through different towns, the cavalcade will proceed directly to Portrush for the display, in what is a change of format.

Members of the public are more than welcome to view the selection of various vehicles at Dunluce Centre, Portrush. There is no charge for this.

The money raised from this event will go to Tiny Life, Northern Ireland’s only premature baby charity. Last year 24,500 babies were born in Northern Ireland and 1,805 of these babies were premature. Over half of the babies supported by Tiny Life have a disability or debilitating condition such as cerebral palsy, reflux, sight or hearing impairments, chronic lung disease and heart conditions.
