One of Northern Ireland’s finest!

A local man’s album has been shortlisted for a Belfast Music Week Award, recognising the very best albums released in the last twelve months by a Northern Irish act.

Robyn G Shiels’ album ‘The Blood of the Innocents’ is one of twelve shortlisted.

The awards, taking place at Belfast’s Mandela Hall on Saturday, November 15 – also doubles up as something quite special: the presentation of the ‘Oh Yeah Centre Legend Award’ to Northern Irish alt-rock legends Therapy, who will also be performing their landmark 1994 album Troublegum in its entirety.

Speaking exclusively to The Times last week, the Kilrea man said he was delighted with the nomination.

“I am delighted to be nominated.

“There’s an abundance of good decent music out there that don’t usually get the chane to shine, so it’s positive that if you keep at it hopefully things will start looking up.

“A lot of my friends are also on this list, so we must be doing something right!”
