Our Jimmy in running for BAFTA

Coleraine actor James Nesbitt has been nominated for a TV BAFTA for his role in BBC One’s hit series The Missing.

James portrayed tortured dad Tony Hughes whose son Oliver went missing while on holiday in France.

The eight-part series was critically-acclaimed and is set to return for a second series, along it is unknown if Nesbitt will reprise his role.

The star is nominated for the TV BAFTA for leading actor alongside Toby Jones for Marvellous, Benedict Cumberbatch for Sherlock, and Jason Watkins for The Lost Honour Of Christopher Jefferies.

Ken Stott, who played Ian Garrett in The Missing is nominated for best supporting actor and will go head-to-head with Belfast actor Stephen Rea who has been shortlisted in the same category for his role in The Honourable Woman on BBC Two.
