Packed programme at 4 Corners Music Festival

BUILDING on the success of its pilot year, the 4 Corners Music Festival has returned for its second year this February.

This dedicated music festival is now officially open for bookings with the festival guide released and the dedicated website up and running for the wide range of events reaching the 4 Corners of the Antrim borough from February 17-26.

MADD, in conjunction with the Cultural Services Section of Antrim Borough Council, have pulled out all the stops to present big names and rising stars at gigs as varied as hotels, cafes, libraries and football clubs.

For both primary and secondary schools there is also the opportunity for their pupils to be involved in the expert and unique masterclasses and workshops on offer – all free of charge.

Watch out for the following:

Cat Skills - Mark Rehill Exhibition, Dunadry Hotel - Launch event on Wednesday, February 17 from 8pm to 9.30pm, admission free: Running throughout the Festival will be this special exhibition from digital illustrator Mark Reihill. Bringing together his two passions of art and music, the exhibition will feature illustrations of pop icons to rock legends via home-grown heroes, all rendered in his own inimitable style.

Additional illustrations from Mark’s body of work will also be available to view at Starbucks, Junction One from Thursday, February 18 to Friday, February 26, during Starbucks opening hours.

In Session - Justin Grant - Thursday, February 18: Justin Grant is a charismatic singer/ multi-instrumentalist from Newry

In Session - Skin & Bones - Thursday, February 25: Local musicians, Tommy McMeekin and Richard Magee, present a lively set of old favourites and original compositions from influences as far and wide as the Beatles, Tom Petty, REM and a little bit of everything in between.

Teenage Kicks, in association with the Oh Yeah Centre, Belfast & Crumlin Together - All ages gig at Crumlin Football Club on Saturday, February 20, from 7.30pm to 10pm, admission 5: A first for both the 4 Corners Music Festival and its partners, Oh Yeah and Crumlin Three up and coming bands - A Plastic Rose, Sethway and Wonder Villains - present an energetic night for both young people aged 13 years-plus and those who are young at heart.

Nowhere Boy film screening - Antrim Cineplex, Monday, February 22 at 8pm, admission 3.

Coffee with the Choir - Wednesday, February 24 from 8pm to 9pm in the new Antrim Library, admission free: United by their love of song Open Arts Community Choir is an inclusive choir featuring people with disabilities and those without, from ages 18 to 81 and from every section of the community.

4 Corners Folk Finale headlined by The Henry Girls - Park Plaza Hotel, Antrim, Friday, February 26, admission 10: The 4 Corners Music Festival draws to a close with a toe tapping, foot stomping folk and blues finale headlined by the fantastically talented trio of sisters from Inishowen, Donegal, The Henry Girls. The event also includes the presentation of Jim Gilchrist Music Maker Award
