Pirates and Vikings at Discovery Centre

CRAIGAVON’S very own swashbuckling pirates and villainous Vikings can walk the plank and go in search of tempting treasures at Lough Neagh Discovery Centre this August!

Organised by Craigavon Borough Council’s Conservation team, a Plundering Pirates and Vicious Vikings event will take place on Saturday, August 6, and will be a great opportunity for local kids to transform into notorious pirates and Vikings for the day!

A variety of dastardly activities will be on offer at the fun-filled event including a chance for scallywags to make their very own Viking or Pirate sword and shield and then have their face painted ready for battle and the challenges that lie ahead!

Buccaneers and salty seadogs can then try their hand at some viking games and master the many challenges put before them to find the treasure and return home triumphant!

In addition, kids will have the opportunity to learn the meaning of the Viking runes and view a fascinating collection of weapons and jewellery. The RSPB will also be in attendance with their Jack ‘House’ Sparrow activities, showing people how they can help garden birds and other wildlife.

There will be two sessions taking place throughout the day. The first will begin at 11am and finish at 1.30pm. The second will start at 2pm and finish at 4.30pm.

This is a great family day out for both kids and parents and is suitable for children aged six and over. Cost is £4 per child and parental supervision is required.
