Public Enemy set to play the Limelight

New York’s Public Enemy will be taking to the stage of the Limelight in Belfast on Tuesday August 5.

The first truly political rap act, they broke through to mainstream success in 1987 with their ground-breaking sophomore LP ‘It Takes A Nation Of Millions To Hold Us Back’.

Public Enemy have gone on to create hip hops most acclaimed body of work, fusing break beats, funk & metal with Chuck D & Flavour Flav’s unique vocal styles.

In early 2012, Public Enemy kicked off their 25th anniversary tour. Every bit as 
compelling & explosive a live act as they were in 1987, the group have never stopped urging to fight the power. Their artistry meets with
 unwavering critical acclaim and legions of worldwide 
fans, including those who drove their single ‘Harder Than You Think’ into the 
UK’s Top 5 in late 2012, their highest charting UK single to date.

The band were announced as inductees for the 2013 class of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame on December 11, 2012, making them the fourth hip-hop act to be inducted after Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five, Run–D.M.C. and The Beastie Boys.
