Red Bull Electric Ballroom at Oxegen

FOR the past number of years, Red Bull’s presence at Oxegen has been synonymous with state of the art structures, innovative line-ups and eclectic music mixes and this year is no different.

2011 will see the introduction of Red Bull Electric Ballroom.

A world premier for Red Bull and Oxegen, Red Bull Electric Ballroom will transform the existing structure of the event centre into a grand art-deco style ballroom. Inside and out, the dressing and theming of the entire venue has been designed to create the Electric Ballroom experience – complete with grand entrance, chandeliers, hanging prints and giant portraits all reminiscent of the 1930s ballroom era.

Headlining Friday night is Sven Väth, Germany’s most acclaimed and accomplished DJ/producer and the godfather of the techno scene. Since his career began in 1982 Sven Väth has been at the forefront of innovations in dance music.

The Bloody Beetroots are just about the hottest electronic act in the world right now!

Their ever-evolving live set has morphed from a high-energy, two-person DJ set to a full-on frenzy-inducing live band. Perpetually clad onstage in their signature Venom masks, the electro revolutionaries blur the lines between fashion/art/music to stunning effect. With an attitude firmly rooted in punk rock, The Bloody Beetroots have become impossible to ignore.

Dutch DJ supremo Afrojack will headline Sunday night. His collaboration with Pitbull, Neyo and Nayer, ‘Give Me Everything’ is currently at No.1 in the UK singles chart and No.3 in the U.S Billboard Hot 100. His reputation as a producer has seen him receive remix requests for Lady Gaga’s ‘Alejandro’ and Madonna’s ‘Revolver’ for which he took the 2011 Grammy Award in collaboration with David Guetta.
