Ring in the New Year with Diamond hoedown

Independent promoters Funk n Groove will host a New Year’s Eve hoedown this Thursday, December 31 from 8.30pm at the Sandwich Company in The Diamond.

With a limited number of tickets now on sale at £10, the night includes a line-up of three of the town’s finest DJs, a Glitter Ball dance floor, chill out area and full bar to include a range of local craft beers, speciality spirits and the finest of bubbles for your 12 bells toast to 2016.

Deemed as a night for those who’d prefer not to be packed in like a sardine, this is one party that’s more Star Dust than Tin Can.

Following on from the recent sell-out Halloween party in the same venue and with previous success stories including Hospice Rocks at the Nerve Centre under her belt, the upcoming NYE party is shaping up to be another stonker for local mover and shaker, Rachael Eastwood and her trusty team, none of them strangers to the Londonderry social scene.

As for the soundtrack to see in the New Year, expect an eclectic selection of music through the decades with old skool hip-hop, rock past and present, finest funk, 80s shoe-gazers, 90s foot-stompers and good old party tunes amongst the music selection.

Sandwiched in between Londonderry’s acclaimed hip-hop guru, Type One and local muso and Grand Central Bar’s favourite Resident DJ, Lounge Lizard, David Doherty, will be Londonderry’s prodigal daughter and Ibiza export, Stray Kitten, who’ll no doubt throw a few kooky numbers into the mix while she’s at it.
