On Wednesday and Thursday, March 12-13, at 8pm, Northern Ireland’s favourite TV family returns to the Riverside stage in a brand new version of the hit series Give My Head Peace!

After another sell out show in 2013, Give My Head Peace comes back to the Riverside Theatre this 2014 with a brand new show featuring Ulster’s most dysfunctional family plus the Province’s favourite cleric, Pastor Begbie (Paddy Jenkins).

This live show features topical satire and top class stand-up comedy from Tim McGarry with guaranteed laughs!

Classic 60s comedy and free, pre-show talk

London Classic Theatre, one of the country’s very best professional touring ensembles will be making its annual visit to Coleraine on Friday, March 14, at 8pm, with Joe Orton’s splendid comedy “Entertaining Mr Sloane”.

The production was first staged at the Arts Theatre in London in 1964, winning the London Critics ‘Variety’ award for Best Play of the Year. Its unique blend of farce and black comedy beautifully captures the suppressed desires of the period.

London Classic Theatre is marking the 50th Anniversary of this hugely funny play with this show.

There will be a free, pre-show talk at 7.15pm on the night, delivered by Riverside’s Manager, Jeremy Lewis.

Belfast Lyric Theatre on Tour to Coleraine

Brian Friel’s beautiful, and rarely-performed play, “Molly Sweeney” will be playing at Riverside at 8pm on Wednesday, March 19 at 8pm.

Blind since infancy, Molly Sweeney is persuaded to have an operation to restore her sight.

Her husband Frank is convinced she has nothing to lose; her ophthalmologist Mr Rice is not so sure.

The play charts their expectations and fantasies of how the operation will change everything, not just for Molly, but for all three of them.

Foyer Exhibition

The Riverside is particularly pleased to welcome the first foyer exhibition from Patsy Mullan, entitled “Armagh Prison – Visual Residue 2006”, which opened a week ago and will be on view for the next eight weeks.

This exhibition was originally commissioned by the Context Galleries in Derry in 2006 and is made up of a series of photographs taken inside Armagh Women’s Prison in November 2006.
