Santa swaps red nosed Rudolph for a ‘wee grey Fergie’

Santa is swapping Rudolph the red nosed Reindeer for a ‘Wee Grey Fergie’ on Christmas eve for a tour round Bleary, Waringstown and Lurgan.

Ian McCormick started the run five years ago after a suggestion from his daughter Lynsey McCready - having toured round Lough Neagh for Newry Hospice.

Escorted by Lynsey’s husband Adam, each Christmas Eve Santa has driven the tractor and Lynsey the elf has sat on the link box! This year they have decided to get a bit more professional and now have a travelling Santa’s grotto! Ian is now an elf (and a much younger and better looking Santa has been called in) and will tow the grotto where Santa and his other elf will be.

The children will be able to get into the grotto and talk to Santa and parents will be able to take photographs if they wish.

Their itinerary is as follows: 5pm - Markville, Cedar Park, Calvertstown (Bleary) 6:15pm - Windsor Hill, Windsor Lodge, Oak Grange, Clanconnell Gardens, Murraywood, Weavers Lane (Waringstown); 8:15pm - Banbridge Road into Lurgan, Gilford Road and Toberhewny Lodge.
